Shenandoah River
The majestic Shenandoah River flows close to our
Virginia Mountain Cabin Rentals through the Shenandoah
Valley of Virginia. The Shenandoah River is a major tributary of the Potomac River and it flows approximately 150 miles through Virginia and West Virginia,
creating some stunning spots and scenery. Flowing northeast of the city of Front Royal VA,
the Shenandoah River VA passes under I-66 in several
sections and meanders through many different counties in the Virginia Mountain region.
Featuring many scenic areas to enjoy not only fishing, but tubing, canoeing, kayaking and so much more, the Shenandoah River is a popular river to enjoy while staying in our
Luray VA Cabin Rentals.
Flowing in a peculiar northwardly fashion, the Shenandoah River VA forms a South Fork at Port Republic in Rockingham County near the confluence of the North River and
South River. It follows a very tight course all the way
through the Page Valley and the town of Shenandoah
Virginia. The North Fork of the Shenandoah originates in Rockingham County in the pristine
George Washington National Forest
and flows down from the mountains and then across Shenandoah County near the western side of Massanutten Ridge. The greater body of water known as the Shenandoah River is formed at the confluence of these two forks just northeast of Front Royal Virginia.
The Shenandoah River is just one of the many natural features of the Shenandoah Valley that make it such a special place to enjoy Virginia Mini Vacations and Virginia Getaway Vacations. It creates wonderful spots to enjoy
Shenandoah River Fishing and
Shenandoah River Tubing. We offer cozy Shenandoah River Accommodations right in Luray VA. Our beautiful log home Luray Cabins offer one of a kind lodging near all of your favorite things to do in the Virginia Mountains. Enjoy staying
close to Luray Caverns Virginia, the Luray Zoo,
Skyline Drive VA, the
Shenandoah National Park, the Northern Virginia Golf Courses, and the
Virginia Ski Resorts. While John Denver may have been singing about the section of the Shenandoah River that meanders through West Virginia, when he sang so eloquently about the Shenandoah in "Take Me Home, Country Roads", we are sure you will find the same relaxing tranquility that Denver did in our segment.
